Das Press Release anbei. Im Grunde gibts anscheinend nicht viel zu sagen: Internetbrowser der ne Kindersperre bekommt. Der Hintergrund, Helligkeit etc. kann nun angepasst werden bzw. um Themes erweitert werden. Eine neue Netzwerk-Kategorie, ein “News Ticker” und man kann die PS3 über Remote-Play ein und ausschalten…. Mehr steht nicht im Press Release… Kein INGAME-XMB…. keine INGAME Musik… Also wenn das alles war….

Ability to customise XMB™ and add personalised playlists for both music and photos also enabled

London, 8 November 2007 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announced today the availability of the latest version of the PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) system software. Version 2.00 features the ability to turn a PS3 system on and off remotely, using a PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) system via the Remote Play1 function, allowing for a truly mobile partnership between the two systems.

Building on the success and potential of the Remote Play functionality, Version 2.00 will cement the partnership between PS3 and PSP and create a truly global experience. With the ability to turn your PS3 on and off from Wi-fi connection, there is now the opportunity to listen to the music, look at the photos and watch the videos saved on the PS3 Hard Disk Drive, anywhere in the world.

To further enhance the PS3 offering, Version 2.00 allows for the creation of personalised playlists in both the music and photo sections. This simple to use function gives users an opportunity to create unlimited music playlists for all occasions, as well as sharing favourite photos in glorious high definition.

Continuing with the idea of a personalised PS3, Version 2.00 allows for customisation of the XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) menu screen. Change the colour and brightness with the greatest of ease or have something completely different by setting a custom theme. With the potential for new backgrounds to become available on PLAYSTATION®Network in the future, Version 2.00 truly opens up a whole raft of options.

A host of other enhancements includes the addition of an Information Board on XMB to keep people up to date on the latest PlayStation® news, the inclusion of a new PLAYSTATION Network category and logo for easier navigation and Trend Micro Web Security, a free2, state of the art internet security system, designed to give parents peace of mind.

Soeben wurden im G.A.P. (Man muss ein G.A.P. Member sein, um dort reinzukommen) Bereich des US Playstation Forums eine Umfrage erstellt, welches neue feature für einen am wichtigsten wäre für die FW 2.00.

Hier der Original-Auszug aus dem Forum:

“Choose which XMB™
(Cross Media Bar) feature
would be most important
to you in a possible PLAYSTATION®Network update:

A) In-game access to PSN messaging
B) Ability to play my own music from the XMB while in-game
C) Larger buddy list and buddy-list features such as categorizing”

Die Auswahlmöglickeiten sind wohl selbsterklärend. Und dies ist somit ein weiterer Hinweis, dass die Firmware 2.00 nicht mehr all zu weit entfernt ist. Stuzig macht mich nur, dass man nur aus einer der 3 Optionen auswählen kann.

Das wussten wir zwar schon, aber wie es aussieht, dürften wir bald mehr erwarten!

Meine Damen und Herren, wir treten in die heiße Phase ein! Und jedesmal wenn ein größeres Firmware-Release für die PS3 ansteht, legt sich bei mir ein Schalter um und ich verwende alle Energie darauf, Neuigkeiten darüber in Erfahrung zu bringen. Hey, das ist gut für euch, so erspart ihr euch die mühseelige Arbeit, dass Internet durchzustöbern.

HIER habe ich bereits SELBST in Erfahrung gebracht, dass mit der FW 2.00 für die Playstation 3 in der nächsten Woche zu rechnen ist. Ob dieß zu 100% stimmen mag, darf selbstverständlich bezweifelt werden. Das daran jedoch was wahres dran sein könnte, bestätigt meine neueste Entdeckung!

Der Semi-Offizielle PS3 BLOG “Threespeech.com” hat eine Liste veröffentlicht, was uns dieses Jahr noch im PS-Store erwartet. Und nun sehen wir uns einmal die Kommentare dazu genauer an. Bzw. hat dies die Seite “TheSixthAxis.com” getan. Ganz genau genommen die Kommentare Nummero 9 und 11. Hier wird von Threespeech.com “bestätigt” das es Morgen, am 02.11.2007 eine Pressemitteilung von Sony geben wird, in der Details über die FW 2.00 bekannt gegeben werden und weiters, dass die Firmware 2.00 in den nächsten 2 Wochen erscheinen wird.

Hatte ich also die ganze Zeit vielleicht doch recht?!
